Description
Key Benefits:
1. High-fiber, shrimp-safe diet: The diet?s high raw fiber content and vegetable composition are friendly to the digestive systems of shrimp and mini-shrimp, helping prevent digestive upsets and promote healthy digestion.
2. Complete nutrition of shrimp: Although the feed is grain-heavy, it provides balanced nutrition necessary to grow and survive: proteins, vegetable ingredients, minerals, and perhaps a probiotic supplement, which meets the general quality requirements of Dr. Bassleer Biofish food.
3. Promotes health, molting, and color: Healthy growth and digestion of shrimp helps to keep it in healthy exoskeletons, promotes normal molting processes, and demonstrates improved coloration and liveliness ? important in ornamental shrimp keeping.
4. Reduces waste and conserves water quality: Fiber-based sticks are more likely to be consumed by shrimp or small fish, leaving less waste, which is critical in shrimp tanks where water quality is a vital consideration.
5. Sinking sticks available to bottom residents: As sinking sticks, these are very readily available to the bottom and substrate levels, so that they are accessible to shrimp, small bottom dwellers, and shy or nocturnal species, which may not be available to surface feeders.
Why & When to Use Shrimp Stick
1. In shrimp tanks or nano aquariums: Especially recommended in Caridina, Neocaridina, dwarf shrimp colonies or other invertebrate-intensive systems.
2. As a food or supplemental food for small fish/shrimp: It is handy when you have small community fish with shrimp, as a supplement to provide a bottom-level food source that all can reach.
3. Throughout the molting and development stages, Shrimp Stick supports healthy molting, juvenile growth, and exoskeleton strength with good nutrition and digestibility.
4. To keep the water in delicate tanks clean, use shrimp-optimized food that digests well; this prevents the accumulation of uneaten food, which which is essential in firmly planted or shrimp-only aquariums.
Feeding Guidelines
Provide a couple of sticks per day, depending on the number of shrimps in the shrimp population ? enough so that they can feed on them within a limited period (e.g. 10-20 minutes). You can also include Dr. Bassleer Biofish food regular.
Make sure to remove the unused sticks periodically to prevent decay and contamination of the water. Keep the water well filtered and changed frequently. In mixed tanks (shrimp + small fish), it is important to monitor feeding so the shrimp have a fair share before the aggressive fish devour them.
BASSLEER BIOFISH FOOD SHRIMP STICS is a considerate, shrimp-specific diet that meets the dietary requirements of ornamental shrimp: high in fiber, balanced, easy to digest, and water-safe. As an entry-level or advanced shrimp keeper, this helps shrimp grow healthily, molt, and develop color while maintaining tank stability, making it a wise choice for any shrimp or nano community.
Available in the varieties REGULAR, ACAI with acai berries, CHLORELLA with the freshwater algue chlorella and CARLIC with fresh GARLIC. The FOODBOX for shrimps contains four delicious varieties of SHRIMP STICKS. Variety makes the difference!
Nutritional & Functional Insight
Dietary fiber and vegetable matter are beneficial to shrimp and most small invertebrates, as they support their digestive physiology and natural foraging (grazing on biofilm, detritus, vegetation). Dr. Gerald Bassleer has developed Shrimp Stick with a high ratio of raw fiber and balanced nutrition so that the shrimp not only survive but also grow, molt, and change color in a vibrant way in accordance with these nutritional needs.
Since shrimp tanks are delicate environments where discarded food can rapidly degrade water quality, highly digestible, shrimp-specific feed is highly beneficial for maintaining stable parameters and minimizing health hazards associated with ammonia or nitrite spikes.
